Search Substitutions ($ Searches)

Version: 201x.x, 8.5

Abstract

To allow MediaBeacon's Advanced Searches to be dynamic per user, "search substitution" strings can be used to automatically input the current user's information at the time of search. For example, the string $user:ldap:city will act as the value "Minneapolis" for the "Exampler" user, see below.

This search will find any assets that contain the value "Minneapolis" in the Dublin Core Keywords field.

Content Pools Substitutions

When a content pool is used, the search substitution string is designated by the prefix $user:pool:, and completed with a Content Pool's "name" value. In the above example, this would be $user:pool:PoolName. The value that would be added to search is "PoolValue"
