The 8.0 Interface builds on the success of MediaBeacon 3.0, which introduced the concepts of workspaces, widgets, and themes. MediaBeacon 8.0 has an expanded set of tools which solidify this paradigm.
In brief, the UI is organized into workspaces, which are arranged as horizontal tabs - under a common menu bar. Each workspace can be populated with a custom set of widgets. Each widget is a localized interface that has a specific function, and that works together with other widgets in an intuitive way. Workspaces are assigned a layout to organize the arrangement of widgets, and are also assigned a theme which controls the look-and-feel of UI when that workspace is active. Workspaces and widgets also have contextual menus that contain area-specific functions.
This section will describe the concepts central to this new interface.
