Duplicate Detection

Note: This function is included in MediaBeacon 2019.1+

The duplicate detection system is designed to alert users when exact copies of an asset is uploaded. When an asset is uploaded, a "hash code" is generated from the asset preview. If this code matches another asset or assets, a duplicate detection notification will be generated. Note that matches are not made for non-current versions.

Also see the Searching for Assets in Specific Statuses article for more ways to use the duplicate detection system.

Implementation in 2019.1

In MediaBeacon 2019.2, messages generated by this system are displayed in the Notification Center, and in the Saved Selections dialog.

Notification Center

When a duplicate is uploaded, a notification for the duplicate detection event is displayed. Clicking the link will display just those assets as the current view.
