The Discussion metaform tab houses a post-style list of messages.

Comments may be added to assets in a chat-style interface in the Discussion Metaform Tab.

  1. Discussion Count
  2. Comment Field: Enter text here to add a comment.
  3. Comments: Displayed in "bubble text".
  4. Comments: Relative Timestamp
  5. Self-Comments: Displayed in blue bubble text.
    1. Double click a self-comment to edit or delete it in the comment field.
  6. Comment from another user: Displayed in gray bubble text.
  7. Other User's Comment: Username
  8. Other User's Comment: User Icon
  9. Reply Icon: Shown when a non self-comment is moused over.
  10. Replying to a user's chat will nest those comments under the replied-to chat bubble under a "@username" label.
  11. Annotation: These are displayed with the user mouses over the image preview or the comment to which it is attached.

Each comment entry shows the time/date of the post, the user's name / icon, and the message. The posts on the left are highlighted to indicate they are the posts that the current user made.

A comment can be made by entering text in the post field at the bottom of the tab, and pressing "Send".

Comments may be edited by selecting a comment, altering the text in the field, and pressing "Send". They can be deleted by pressing "Delete" instead.

Annotations are a type of comment that allows the user to select a portion of the image with a surround box.

All annotations on an asset are shown by hovering the mouse over the preview area, and specific annotations are seen when mousing over the comment to which it is attached.

To make an annotation, drag a surround box out over the asset preview. It can be resized and moved as well, hovering the mouse over the box shows a move cursor, and on the lower-right, hovering displays a corner-move cursor.

Once the surround box is made, the user can enter text in the comment field and press "Send".

Searching Comments

Assets with comments made by a particular user may be searched for by entering the username preceded by an "@" symbol into the Quick Search component. For example, the asset above  may be found by entering "@creativelead".
